MMQ-005 [4VCO Drone / 'The Vessel']Continuing the public-facing progress reports from the ongoing work on the next VCV album, MATTER offers up two longform drone sessions from Brian and David, each built using only modular systems that utilize either actual voltage controlled oscillators, or self-oscillating filters, phasers and LFOs moving fast enough to be within the audible range. These sounds combine to form chordal structures that are non-traditional but feel like a comfortable sonic bath all the same. These sessions were created with the initial intent to only use sections of them for placement within the VCV album's final mix, but these were possibly the point where the idea for MATTER became clear to us, the notion that these could indeed be functional public releases instead of simply utilities and tools developed for the progress of another larger structure.
