Picking up where his collaboration with Steve Moore and recent Underwater Cities EP left off, Octopod Metropolis extends the dance-oriented Ovoid Crafts sublabel with a 5 song exploration of analog and modular based 110 bpm "intelligent dance music" tracks. Focusing on warm and evocative sequences and simple proto-techno structures, Bluetech restricted his sound palette to purely analog sources like the extremely rare Macbeth Elements and ubiquitous Buchla Music Easel and focused on allowing the pure tonalities to guide the unfolding and hypnotic pieces. From the minimal pulse of 'Spectral Chromatophone' to the Berlin school sequencer workout of 'Nudibranch Symphony', this release adds a new chapter to Bluetech's extensive discography of hyper detailed and melodic electronic music.
