I like to curate things. I believe that everything has a proper time and place. My partner-in-rhyme JustMe and I just released a GemRats project “Hidden Gems” that had been sitting in the vaults for nearly a decade. We recorded the album over the winter of 2013. It was released in 2022. We live in a world where everything moves fast. Sometimes too fast. We have quite possibly reached critical mass with how quickly and how often an artist is expected to release material. I refuse to comply. The adages “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and “aged like fine wine” apply to my approach. I’m not OPPOSED to quick strike releases. I just don’t enjoy working that way. Sometime around the middle of 2016 I began looking back at a lot of material I had accumulated. Some of it had been heard, some of it rarely heard and other things NEVER heard. Among them a shelved KYLIENS follow-up of Liquid Swords that Deacon the Villain and I started working on in 2009, a never released “Exhibit C” freestyle that I never put out (there were just too damn many freestyles of that song out for me to release mine), and even material from long-abandoned projects - songs like “Lucifer”. I handed this material over to turntablist/producer Bombeardo. We talked about the mixtape - mostly structure and intent. The tape he delivered is nothing short of a masterpiece. IMHO “Impossible Feat” is the way forward in mixtapes. Like an aged wine, it is better now than it was when he delivered it to me. And now it is yours.What is “Impossible Feat”? It’s a bomb. Piercing, biting, relentless lyrics weaved between masterful strokes of DJ excellence. Despite its playful cover art this mixtape is nothing to play with.
