New Blue TrousersThe Horse Without Wings EP, Colleen Freeman's debut release, was born of air, solitude and spinning wheels. Colleen has always made music but it wasn’t until she began traveling by bicycle that the melodies and lyrics found here came to be. In June 2013, she strapped her fiddle to the back of her bicycle and set out from her home in Valladolid, Spain, headed for Sarlat, France. The next three months and 3,000km biking, camping and busking her way through northern Spain and southern France had a profound physical, emotional, musical and spiritual impact. The stories from this and subsequent bicycle travels are captured in these songs with the simplicity and immediacy of singing through the countryside and playing music in the streets . Like us, songs need time, space and influential people to make them grow. Three years and several countries later, an album has been born.
