The Mariner"A stirring blend of sounds and genres, the record's eight songs blend crunching riffs, spacey atmospherics and a penchant for '70s and '80s new wave, fusing the 4 members' different influences together to create something totally new and exciting." - Mischa Pearlman/ KERRANG"Dark Numbers' debut album is the shit. Some of it sounds like Alice In Chains if Alice In Chains smoked way more weed and injected far less heroin. Some of it is in the same kinda doom/trad hybrid you get from bands like Khemmis. Two tracks, "Supernova" and "Gravity Well", seem to be haunted. Another, "Fuse", is like an interlude dominated by sci-fi B movie synths. There's a song called "Shallows" good enough to make you forget all about that Lady Gaga shit, and a song called "The Mariner" that includes not only an excellent use of saxophone, but is so depressing I had to stop typing this for awhile as I wept. Guys: Listen. To. This. ALBUM!!!" - Axl Rosenberg/ METAL SUCKS"An unnervingly sweet, melodically powerful and progressive take on sludge that incorporates touches of gospel, slow core, '70s and '80s pop and new wave, and whatever Anneke van Giersbergen has been doing the past 20-some-odd years." - Kevin Stewart- Panko/ DECIBEL MAGAZINE"I guess we straddle a definitive genre. People throw around the word 'prog' a lot. I prefer 'space rock'. I approach vocals from a hyper melodic place. Dan has more complicated, mathematical sensibilities. Kirk and Ben round out our sound with a sludgier edge. I don't really know what to call us, but our recording engineer called us something like 'a doomy E.L.O.'" -Singer Natalie Lucio interviewed by HEAVY MUSIC HEADQUARTERS
