Deaf SceneDeaf Scene is an experimental band based in Baltimore, Maryland. As an instrumental drum-bass-guitar trio, the band pulls off an incredibly vast range of sounds, pushing the sonic boundaries of each instrument and each sound that they use. NebulaAt Wrightway Studios in Baltimore, Deaf Scene tracked all of their instruments for their second full-length album over a span of just four days, intent on capturing the raw energy and inspiration they had felt during the writing process in the months prior. These recording sessions culminated in Chimera, a collection of progressive and psychedelic instrumental songs that stray away from over-indulgence and virtuosity in favor of melody, harmony, and ambience. In biology, a Chimera is defined as an organism containing a mixture of genetically different tissues. Deaf Scene's Chimera album showcases the individual contributions of each of Deaf Scene's three members on different songs; yet as a whole the album feels cohesive and natural. The band aims to keep having fun with music and to keep writing songs in their own way.
