Kirk's tragic and untimely death.I wouldn't be so bold as to call this a tribute to Kirk's life and work, but the overall mood and direction was coloured by my feelings about his death. I wasn’t even thinking about making any of it public until I played them back a week or so later, and felt that the best ones merited a release. R.H.Kirk, both solo and as a part of Cabaret Voltaire, was undoubtedly THE seminal influence on me in my formative years in the 1980s. He changed the way I listened, he changed the way I thought about the world, and he set me on my own musical path. Longtime followers may remember that the only time I agreed to have my own work remixed for release was on the insistence that Kirk be the remixer, and I'm still immensely proud that Richard agreed to do it.
