Ad van Deurzen was confronted every day with a relentless stream of plastic waste. "Plastics". Plastic is based on our natural fossil fuel oil. This made him even more aware of the existing recycling routes that exist in the Netherlands and worldwide to process plastic waste. The incineration plants, which convert the heat that is released during incineration into electricity, recycle our garbage dumps, landfills and PET bottles. CO2 emissions are released when fossil fuels are burned. Fossil fuels originated from dead plant remains and / or animals that died millions of years ago and are now compressed under the pressure of the earth's surface and rot. CO2 is a chemical compound of a carbon atom (C) and two oxygen atoms (O). We also call it carbon dioxide. It is a colorless and odorless gas. It therefore originates from the burning of natural fuels (oil, natural gas, coal or wood). Trees and plants need CO2 to grow. Too much CO2 emission is harmful to the environment. CO2 is considered the best known and most present greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases retain the heat of the earth, which causes the earth to heat up. Global warming is already causing melting of ice in the North and South Pole. The water level will rise, climates change and the weather becomes more extreme. These are all consequences of CO2 emissions. That is why CO2 reduction is very important. The current temperature rises go much faster, every time the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere goes up, the planet starts to look very different. And ensures that life on earth changes greatly. How are we doing in the Netherlands? With a climate agreement, energy agreement and climate law. The latest news about the circular economy! Urgenda Foundation, together faster sustainable. 9 Oct 2018 Climate case: Our State does too little against climate change, the State must do more against CO2 emissions. This means that the government is renouncing its duty of care for Dutch citizens, the Court of Appeal of The Hague ruled. "The Netherlands must take responsibility," the judge said. The Court of Appeal orders the government to take measures to ensure that CO2 emissions have fallen by 25 percent by the end of 2020. 10 June 2019 Central government An additional 80 million euros available for a circular economy or circular economy - this is an economic and industrial system in which no finite resources are exhausted and in which residual materials are fully re-used in the system. By 2050, the Netherlands must be 100% circular. In 2030 we should be halfway. A circular economy is important to use our raw materials more efficiently and to meet the Paris climate agreement. "An economy without waste, so smart use of raw materials is the missing link in the Paris climate agreement". That is what state secretary Stientje van Veldhoven (Infrastructure and Water Management) says. "Without that link, we will not achieve the target agreed in 2015". The other way around! Plastic 2 Power! Circular economy is the solution to make CO2 reduction possible. The CO2 emissions free decomposition of plastics back to its raw material, our valuable fossil fuel oil. Plastic waste is therefore not economically useless. It has its own core value, global market value, instead of giving plastic waste a negative value, because we pay too much to get rid of it. Should we again see plastic waste as a valuable raw material! From an ecological point of view, plastic waste should not have been digested for hundreds of years so that dangerous particles and substances trickle down or burned in our environment, which results in unnecessary extra CO2 emissions. The aforementioned existing recycling routes have nothing to do with the circular economy. This existing recycling route "stopping" would save huge costs worldwide and directly lead to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and ... make a real lasting positive contribution to our human health and the environment, improve our climate globally ... Because plastics, our fossil fuel oil, are desperately needed at the moment to keep the global industry going! Our natural fossil fuels are even running out ... Let's go the other way around! This is how Ad and his son Maikel van Deurzen's mission came about. The other way around! Plastic 2 Power!
