Luquire Family Foods’ Carolina Creole® is a unique recipe that has been handed down in our family like great old fishing tales – by word of mouth. Our rich and vibrant sauce is not to be confused with the Creole sauces that pepper the state of Louisiana – our recipe hails from the Carolina Lowcountry where we’ve cast our shrimp nets and frequented fish camps for generations and found inspiration to create a truly authentic Creole you’ll only find on the Carolina Coast. Carolina Creole consists of a different balance of spicy and sweet from your average creole and when the season is right we serve our creole with shrimp, but you’ll also find it works beautifully with chicken, sausage, or sautéed vegetables. The sauce combines roughly chopped onions, celery, bell peppers and tomatoes with our signature spices. Traditionally, Carolina Creole is served over rice and topped with crumbled bacon, but we’ve found our sofi™ award winning Carolina Stone Ground Grits and grilled Polenta Cakes are also a worthy match. From Our Family to Yours...For almost six decades, the Luquire Family has been serving up some of the downright tastiest Lowcountry cuisine originally created by family matriarch, Josephine “Jo” Luquire. To this day, we continue Jo’s hand-crafted traditions and follow her guidance of using only the finest ingredients, paired with her signature spices and natural flavorings. Our family foods are classic examples of authentic, heirloom comfort cuisine that’s been dished up in the Lowcountry for generations and to this day remain heavily influenced by our coastal region’s Gullah families and their ancestral African cooking techniques.
