I paint with open acrylics on canvas, adding some gold leaf here and there along with some additional elements like mica and paper. While I paint I add more than pigments to the canvas. I believe in the power of intention, words, and energy. Underneath my final image in a painting are layers of precisely these things. Painting with words, symbols, and movement becomes the underlayers for the final image. In my work, I seek to explore and play in the power of what is underneath that which we see. Through this process I can quietly bathe the viewer in love and good energy while they gaze upon the final image, vibrant and alive. My viewers are delighted then to see documented what is beneath and explore the Art from different angles to see hints of the underlayers peeking through. The subjects I paint correlate to the energies I am seeking to focus upon and amplify. My subjects tend toward Spirit Animals, Sacred Spiritual Beings, and Landscapes that hold a special meaning. I offer commissioned reiki paintings, pet portraits, and beyond all with this underlayer process.
