Teaching Focus & Certifications. Jacquelyn "Rebekka" Bonner is a professional-level, 200-hour certified mindfulness meditation instructor. In addition to teaching beginner-level insight meditation classes, she occasionally offers private and limited-enrollment advanced classes and specialized programs tailored to the unique needs of workplace teams, executives, and busy professionals.Formally introduced to secular workplace mindfulness and meditation training at Wall Street firm Goldman Sachs in 2006, Bonner has practiced insight meditation for over two decades. Formal prior trainings include completion of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn's University of Massachusetts Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, an eight-week evidence-based program that offers secular, intensive mindfulness training to assist people with stress, anxiety, depression and pain. She has also completed an intensive 2-year professional Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, accredited by IMTA (International Mindfulness Teachers Association), and was trained by leading experts and psychologists Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield along with such visiting faculty as Dr. Judson Brewer, Dr. Rick Hanson, Ruth King, Dr. Dan Siegel, and others. She currently is completing a book project supporting busy people wishing to develop greater personal resilience, leadership capability, wisdom, and joy in their lives and careers through mindfulness practices. Her concise, workplace-friendly mindfulness tutorials and practice videos can be found on her YouTube channel. In her spare time, Bonner enjoys integrating photography into her mindfulness meditation practices and offers occasional specialized workshops for photographers at all levels. Bonner regularly offers private and limited-enrollment beginner, advanced, and specialized programs on a donation-optional basis. As a resilience-building COVID-19 community service project, she has been focused on delivering the benefits of trauma-sensitive mindfulness and wise leadership to a wide range of students and community organizations in the greater New York City area. Favorite teaching experiences have included offering a beginner's online mindfulness course for Christ Church Park Avenue, teaching a virtual course for residents-in-quarantine of a Manhattan apartment complex during the pandemic lockdown, offering a workplace Community Coffee-Break series, and leading a midnight group meditation in Times Square supporting a charitable benefit fundraiser. Career & Education. Bonner advises investment management firms and C-Suite professionals on a range of regulatory, business, and legal issues. Prior to her graduate studies at Yale Law and Harvard Business Schools, she enjoyed several years working at the intersection of government, politics, and journalism.
