Party TimeFechal means "Dance!" in Wolof, one of the indigenous languages of Senegal, West Africa. The music on this album is meant to inspire dance, movement, and to further the mission of the band: Jamarek, a word meaning "Peace only." Jamarek is a greeting used by the Wolof people of Senegal as a response to the question "how are you?" It captures the spirit of a wise and ancient people, and inspires the music on this album. We hope that this album will invite you to dance and be at peace. Jamarek is Hawaii's premier African Dance band. Its members have performed around the world and now play for the people of Hawaii, bringing African and Latin-inspired music to the people of the Pacific.
