Le dernier projet étant de réunir en un double album deux créations inédites autour des œuvres de Duke Ellington et de Glenn Miller : " The Octet Projects""Il n’est pas besoin de célébrer un anniversaire – 40 ans cette année qu’il nous a quitté - pour rendre hommage à Duke Ellington. Il reste le plus génial des compositeur/orchestrateur de l’histoire du jazz, respecté et adulé par les plus grands...Sa musique intemporelle se transpose naturellement dans tous les styles et climats.Glenn Miller quant à lui, dont nous commémorons cette année la disparition tragique il y a 70 ans, s’il n’est pas le créateur de talent qu’était le Duke, n’en est pas moins par son charisme, ses choix et son esprit rassembleur, une figure incontournable de l’histoire des grands orchestres de jazz. Les « tubes » planétaires qu’il popularisa pendant la guerre 39/45 en sont une preuve évidente. J’ai pris un réel plaisir à leur mettre un coup de peinture fraîche pour vous en livrer une relecture originale.Ce double album est l’aboutissement de deux ans de travail avec le collectif normand du « Camion Jazz ».
