Memories Of A Friend No Longer With UsThis is the album I’ve wanted to make for a long time. No band, no vocals, no multi-tracking, just two hands and a guitar (well, a few guitars actually). The songs are mostly standards, but my interpretations are more impressionistic than faithful presentations of classics. The mood is decidedly introspective (as befits someone who lives in a place where it’s gray and rainy for about nine months a year). The tones are a celebration of the complex crystalline quality that comes only from a guitar. And that’s a sound that I truly love.Jim Soloway
