John ColemanJohn Coleman is an Australian singer/songwriter in the acoustic folk/rock tradition who has produced eleven albums of original songs The most recent is Falling Into Light - a collection of songs for meditation - his final collaboration with Noel Davis. I Am SpiritMy friend Noel Davis wrote to me in late October 2020 with a message that included a couple of short poems that he thought might be good set to music – little prayerful mantras. I wrote back and said I was a bit busy but would have a little look. He answered “everything in its time … blessings … Noel”. But when I did have a little look I loved them and the songs took shape quickly. And now it is time! Up till a couple of weeks before his death on March 27 2021 – Noel would send me his poems and for those that particularly spoke to me, I would work on turning them into song. The writing was the first lovely prayer. Noel died before I had completed my part of the deal. I dedicate this collection with love and gratitude to Noel and to his beloved wife and friend Trish. Along with this posthumous collection, Trish has collated his final works in a book with the title:The Joy of Living Our Heart’s Knowing and ImaginingI carry Noel with me in these songs wherever I go … the love, the joy … and the brilliant light. © 2022, John Coleman. When I think about it I know in my heart it is all gift and so thank you is my prayer.
