San AntonioIt took me 3 years to complete this album with Quemando Palabras, in the meanwhile I experienced the split with my band Valravn and death in my other band SUNA. Bands are not just music, they are also family, friendship, partnership and life purpose, so “de la muerte y de otras cosas (about death and other things)”, became a tribute to departure, change and the light beyond that.I found inspiration and healing in my travels to the Indian Himalayas, the Ecuadorian Andes, the Swiss Alps, the French Pyrenees, the Spanish Alpujarras, the coasts and forests of Colombia and Scandinavia, where emotions found home in the earth and thoughts flied freer.I see these 7 songs as a prayer through the 7 chakras, and it got possible thanks to the dedicated and trustful collaboration of all the musicians, poets and artist involved, from Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Switzerland, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden.You can obviously hear references to what I have been listening these times, from Fabrizio De André to José Gonzales, from Hector Buitrago to Franco Battiato, from King Crimson to Sigur Ros, Perl Jam, Steve Reich, Krishna Das, the bauls of Bengal, cumbia, flamenco, dub and hip hop.Dedicated in the loving memory of Søren Koh.
