Member of the UKROP duet, BAS art collective and associate of the volvo666 hip hop project. Known for his live acts oscillating around electronic dance music. EXHAUST is his debut long-playing material and his first stylistically connected synth exploration. Applying his vast knowledge of subtractive synthesis that he shares with others as a lecturer, supporting it with other creative techniques and equipment like vinyl sampling, Julek created the album using Moog, Roland, Korg synths. EXHAUST’s defined sound comes as a convergence of influences from the likes of Madlib, Mr. Oizo and Blawan and Julek’s unique use of production techniques native to outsider house, ambient and industrial music. EXHAUST is an album that feels like it is submerged in hectolitres of muddy seawater, reflecting Julek’s personal message of ecological anxiety.
