People were often telling me to make a more polished record, but the pursuit of that has typically led to me being frustrated with having my vision dismissed. These tracks aren't perfect sonically or in execution, however I feel like they are complete in their intention.After Mary left Katie the Pest and years of playing small LA clubs and bars, I found myself yearning for quiet comforts and open spaces. With a four-track recorder, my dad's nylon string Martin, I let my words and voice go to places I'd never considered possible before. It seems silly in 2020 to say reaching outside of a genre felt like an effort, but 2005 was a different time.
