(free cake for every creature)27. baby i wanna know (remix by Autregis)that's me on the cover!three years ago, while doing a deep-clean of my childhood bedroom, i found a microcassette player and tapes at the back of my desk drawer. i popped a tape in and pressed play, surprised and amazed to hear my 8-yr-old girl's voice singing back at me. i then remembered, all those evenings, laying on my back in my room with my door locked, holding the microcassette up to my mouth and unleashing all of my pre-pubescent urges and angst into its ear. finding these songs reminded me of who i was, of my passion and excitement, and encouraged me to go ahead and make music again, as an adult (under the name "free cake for every creature"). i hope you get a kick out of 'em, and that maybe they remind you of who you were, too. <3 katie
