How I want to serve you… In 2014 I had a dream one night. When I woke up, I knew it was a vision of the future. But, I didn’t when, or even exactly what it meant. Me, in brightly lit room with chandeliers, an elegantly set table, and an older lady handing me a piece of bread telling me “soon it would be my turn.” In 2018, I had another brief vision as I opened our mailbox. It was the same older woman again, and she said the word “Soon.” Inside the mailbox I found a book I had agreed to read and write a review about. It was a children’s book about the biblical woman, Priscilla – wife of Aquilla. She was a teacher. Here we are in 2022. I’m on a new path (transition) of the blessing of caring for my aging parents. I started praying about how to continue to teach and minister to women coupled with my love of writing and journaling. The pieces started falling together to create a download printables world where women could find easy journals and scripture study that weren’t full of theological jargon. My new adventure of The Refeathered Nest . With every post and printable, it is my hope to help you: Learn to create balance: Life is a juggling act, but just like the circus, you can have a little fun during the mayhem. Here you’ll find tools and tips to make your life easier… Make new memories and cherish the old: Life’s little moments often make the biggest impact. Strengthen Connections: Create and strengthen your connections with family, friends and your faith. Learn to embrace your quiet time: Through the power of taking time to write, journal, pray and study the Bible you’ll deepen your faith. Let’s get started! Here’s how I can help you here at The Refeathered Nest… Are you dizzy while trying to balance in the twists and turns of life? We have a nest of squirrels living in a tall Sycamore tree in our front yard. I can’t tell you the generations of critters I’ve watched grow and live in that tree. Every time a new litter is born, I look forward to the day when the little ones leave the nest to explore for the first time. They scamper up and down the trunk and leap back and forth on the limbs. It never fails that one of them leaps too far, and falls from a limb. It’s amazing how quickly those little feet can grasp a twig and catch themselves. I am reminded almost every day that there are moments in life I’m grasping like that baby squirrel to catch onto a limb so I can regain my balance. Through the years I’ve found my faith in Christ keeps me from throwing my hands up in despair, and writing helps me figure it all out. From my earliest days of keeping a childhood diary, to writing stories, creating children’s books, creating prayer and faith building journals and mentoring other writers. I believe in the power of the written word. That’s why I love journals, to-do lists, affirmations, writing out my vision, dreams and goals. I believe in the power of your words to help you keep your balance. From my morning practice of writing in my journal, to hand writing my Bible studies, to just keeping the family organized.. everything revolves around words. My desire with The Refeathered Nest is provide you with goodies to help you get your act together, or keep it from coming apart at the seams. What does that look like? I can only speak from my experience and know that there are others like me: Learning the art of release.. releasing things, feelings, habits, people… Creating a healthier lifestyle to counter the effects of more cycles around the sun. Working on fulfilling lifelong dreams and hopes (instead of just wishing…) Diving into God’s word to study the scriptures and learning to apply the principles into my life The most important life lesson I want to share with our grandson is that inch by inch, it’s a cinch. Rarely do we take a huge step and master anything. It takes consistent work. That’s my final word of encouragement to you. Inch by inch, or word by word, it’s a cinch. You’ll get there.. I’m here to cheer you on and encourage you every step, and word, of the way. © 2007-2022 Kim Steadman, dba Lifter Upper
