HumanityKinvala's self-titled debut album is a multi-layered and interesting catalogue of songs that reflects the band’s eclectic range of influences and musical inspirations. Blending intricate guitar parts, expressive vocals and percussive elements, their songs range from mellow to rhythmic to heavy to jazzy to dancy to "how the heck do you describe this one?" It’s hard to know what ‘box’ they belong in. The album is entirely self-written, recorded and produced by the band. The music is melodic and complex; their lyrics explore topics like time and consequence, love and loss, nature and humanity. Everything you hear has been created organically and their creative approach to songwriting means you never quite know what to expect. It’s acoustic music Jim, but not as we know it.
