Turia - Een Poort van Takken en LoofLubbert Das / Turia – Live in Athens SplitIn the autumn of 2016, the Haeresis Noviomagi circle was invited for two evenings of live performances in Athens, Greece, organized by Arcane Angels. The first was an invite-only show at Death Disco, a club on the foot of the Acropolis. The second show took place a few days later. Both Lubbert Das and Turia performed at the historic venue Kyttaro, supported by Drawn Into Descent and headlined by the legendary musical masters of Virus - Norway. The first show, at Death Disco, was fully recorded but remained locked in the vaults the years after.These recordings have been unearthed and remixed, and will be released as a live split the 23rd of October. On this date exactly five years ago, the first release under the banner of Haeresis Noviomagi saw the light of day. To commemorate the history of the label and the bands, this special live split will be released on the day of our five year anniversary. Both bands’ performances will be recognisable for those who have seen any of the labels acts playing live throughout the years: furious performance in almost complete darkness, with a driving power that nearly transcends the studio versions of the songs in forcefulness. Both bands deliver songs from various parts of their output, with both offering a song that was at the time still unreleased and, as is the case with Lubbert Das, even unrecorded. Fans of Haeresis Noviomagi throughout the years will surely be interested in this historic recording in the formative years of the label’s acts. However, the release is also completely valid as a standalone listen throughout, not in small part due to the excellent mastering by Peter Johan Nÿland (HADEWYCH), longtime collaborator of the label.
