This Isolated BoyWith bursts of snarling 12 string electric guitars, soaring harmonies and lush horn textures, these songs are hard-hitting rock anthems for those desperately holding on to the fading years of youth, and are the band’s first material since their 2016 ‘Wild Suburbia’ EP.‘Thursday’, a tribute to the fallen dive bar where Meadowhawks first took the stage, depicts the chaotic destruction of their old stomping grounds and the memories of their youth alongside it. ‘This Isolated Boy’, with its steamroller ending driven by a wall of exploding woodwinds, is a musical coming-out for the band, a triumphant journey into new and unexplored musical terrain.Both songs were recorded in Boston at Soundscape Studios by Grammy-nominated engineer Mike Moss and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Joe Palmaccio. Guitarist/Drummer/Songwriter Ryan MacLean and bassist/vocalist Dan Vernam are joined by their newest member, multi-instrumentalist Nick Cusworth, adding new sonic dimensions of woodwinds and keyboard to the band’s mountainous musical soundscape.
