Melanie Heinrich is an interdisciplinary artist who has worked in photography, video, painting and other disciplines. Trained as a photographer she began doing commercial work in the mid 80’s. This training positioned her for the digital world. She is now proficient in Photoshop as well as many other computer programs. She was the head of the photography department at a university in New Jersey and also taught several computer graphic classes at other universities. Her artistic interests have expanded over the years and into the area of video and postproduction using Final Cut Pro. She recently created and produced a video documentary on the life behind the scenes of an American carnival. She holds an Associates degree in Science and a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts both from The Rochester Institute of Technology. Additionally has an Masters in Art degree from Monmouth University and an Masters in Fine Art –Interdisciplinary Art degree form Goddard College in Vermont. Her interests are in spirituality and the possibilities of life after death, the human element in American subcultures and the connections that we draw from in family relatives. Diverse
