Society“Empire” is the second LP from the Germany based Icelandic electronic musician Muted, following up from “Muted World” that was released in 2014.The album, that sports an experimental electronic sound, is released on the artists own label and will be available both digitally and on a very limited vinyl edition on Friday the 10th of August 2018.Hailing from the Eastern region of Iceland, nature plays a big role in influencing his sound. “Empire” is a reference to the Icelandic nature and that is well reflected in the amazing album cover, painted by Steinunn Harðardóttir / dj. flugvél og geimskip. Steinunn is additionally part of four top Icelandic vocalists contributing to the project, including: Fanney Ósk Þórisdóttir, Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir and Jófríður Ákadóttir.All the songs on the album are written by Muted and played on various synthesizers in combination with recordings from a Zoom H4n field recorder, mixed with samples that together form the 10 track LP and serve as an enjoyable trip into Muted‘s electronic world of sounds. A world inspired by nature, technology and science.Mixing was in the hands of Muted and José Diogo Neves, a professor at the TÜ Viljandi Kultuuriakadeemia university in Estonia who also mastered the album.The album will only be released in 150 copies on “glowing-lava”-colored vinyls and will be available through the website: www.muted.is and directly from the artist at bjarni@muted.is. From Friday the 10th of August 2018 and onwards, it will also be available in most places for streaming and purchasing music: Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, SoundCloud etc.
