We really loved the frenetic energy and warm analog sound of these recordings, but decided to record all of these songs again with Derek Almstead in the sessions that became our second studio album, "Ruth." We've wanted to release this record for a long time. It used to feel like a picture of another direction the band could have taken. Now we think of it more like a snapshot of the band from a different angle. We hope you enjoy it!We are releasing this album now to support two causes dear to our hearts. One is Cruisin Records, a DIY label putting out queer art and music. The other is Another Gulf Is Possible, which is a group that describes itself as "a women-of-color centered, grassroots collaborative of ten members from Brownsville, Texas to Port St Lucie, Florida." They are doing some critical work during the long recovery from Hurricanes Ida and Ian, prefiguring the world we want to live in.
