I wanted to create a body of work that would capture my experiences as a Filipino American growing up in San Francisco, CA & also Richmond, VA. Through having a desire to tell my own story I began to realize that I could use the album to tell my family's story & also touch on the collective experience of the Filipino diaspora. My predecessors left their home country to make a better opportunity for me in America. I owe it to my parents & grand parents to make the most of the chance I have been afforded.Musically I wanted to also create a project that would combine my influences From Bay Area Rap, Boom Bap & Lo Fi & Southern Hip Hop. I searched hi & lo to find a producer who could pull this together & in 2014 I found Suttahomz. A Brooklyn native who now resides in VA. Suttahomz is a seasoned veteran formally of Roc Nation with production credits from Amerie to 2 Chainz.
