On progressing in his working career, he worked with Chevron USA (GOMBU) in New Orleans for 2 years as Facilities engineer & Corrosion engineer. He has headed various departments of Chevron Nigeria Limited rising through positions such as Corrosion engineer, Lead facilities engineer, Staff Facilities Engineer, Onshore Operations Superintendent, Construction superintendent, Terminal Superintendent (Downstream Operations Management), Operations Manager, General Manager JV operations, and General Manager - Facilities Engineering and Major Capital Projects.
