Ocean LeavesOcean Leaves are a rag-tag collection of Brisbane multi-instrumentalists headed up by Canadian import Timothy Poitras. The five of us came together in August 2014, and started piecing together some material that Timothy had previously written. A few months later, we put our heads together and wrote "Yellowknife", which was the first song we wrote collectively, with everyone putting in ideas.Writing together as a band has been a very rewarding process, because we have varied musical influences and come at the process from different angles. This was the first time Timothy had written in a group with a song that was still in its infancy, and was pretty nervous about it. He said it felt like dropping his pants in public. But now Yellowknife is his favourite Ocean Leaves song.We are very proud of this EP, and look forward to writing and recording more songs together to show you.The Winter Heart EP is dedicated to Christopher Powless.
