Penahitam are art club was formed by Rio Krisma and Didi Suryawan, also known as Painsugar, on January 21, 2010. At first, these two youths enjoyed the art of drawing and held an exhibition of their works at a coffee shop in the Malang area. The exhibition received good responses from the public and netizens on social media so that the idea of forming an association which was later named Penahitam was born. As time goes by, social media groups consisting of artists and/or art enthusiasts are getting bigger, so the idea for joint exhibitions is born, to facilitate group exhibitions whose members are between cities, print media, in this case fanzine, or zine, is the right media to archive works at once. Exhibition media. Penahitam continues to publish his own independent media, regularly, published in a limited manner and affixed with a serial number before each print, and always has a theme in each edition. This art club then grew and spread to various cities in Indonesia.Until now, Penahitam has been present in 28 cities (some are still active and some are no longer active because the regeneration process has stopped) and consists of many people. Each city takes the initiative to form a club or chapter of its own city blacksmith voluntarily based on the same passion and vision; namely, to promote art and illustration circles in their city so that they can survive and sustain as artist.For the record, the 5th edition was published in Indonesian-English bilingual; the 7th edition, which chose the theme of Erotica, was published in English only in Melbourne, Australia. Proceeds from the sale of the Erotica edition are used to support the struggle for local LGBTQ rights in Indonesia. Previous issue has been sold out. Latest issue #8 is still available.
