Sonnymoon for Two'Journey' is the debut album from the Penny King Quintet, lead by Western Australian jazz vocalist, Penny King.Recorded, mixed and mastered by Lee Buddle at Crank Studios, Western Australia, and produced by Pete Jeavons, the album has been created with some of Australia's finest jazz musicians; Carl Mackey on saxophones, Tom O'Halloran on piano, Pete Jeavons on bass and Michael Perkins on drums.The album features five original compositions by Penny that have been arranged with Pete Jeavons and Tom O'Halloran, as well as original arrangements of tunes from Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins, Bill Evans and James Taylor. The pieces chosen reflect Penny's musical and personal journey over the past few years, and moves effortlessly between jazz and contemporary improvised styles.
