I feel a massive gratitude to Carlos Niño for the enthusiasm and spontaneity that built the foundation of this project and continue to reverberate. Since we met in 2017, I’ve been inspired by his deeply rooted optimism, expansive musical creations and celebration of this precious water planet. Carlos encouraged me to self-release this record during the Autumn Equinox since these pieces were written as a way to contemplate and move with the ever-present rhythms of change. Love,Evan Shornstein High Falls, New YorkAutumnal Equinox 2021 From Carlos:I remember when my lovely child Azul Niño knocked at my Home Studio door enthusiastically, (sometime in 2017,)telling me that I needed to listen to Photay's Music. Azul connected with a Photay Song that was featured in a TV Show they liked and got into him from that. They said that I would definitely enjoy his new record. I went to Photay's Bandcamp Page that night and listened to Onism that had just been released. I then wrote to Photay via Instagram telling him this story. Photay repliedsharing that he was familiar with me and my Music and that he had recently been at a Duet Concert that I playedwith OG Laraaji at Commend in NYC. Azul was also at that Concert. All of this endeared us to each other easily. During a trip to California, Photay came by my Home Studio to record me for what would be his next record Waking Hours. We went for a swim in our Pool, talked a lot, and later Azul and I went to Photay's Concert at The Echo. Close thereafter, I sent Photay a recording, that Laraaji and I had made, for him to add to and create with.That piece became "Forest Pulse" and was released in 2019 on my & Friends record Bliss On Dear Oneness via Leaving Records. I was way into it!We then went about sending each other several rounds of additions and new Mixes, involving other friends of ours in the process . . . I'm stoked and grateful for how Photay wove in contributions from Randal Fisher, Mia Doi Todd, my & Friends group, and the Legend Iasos.This record greatly reflects our mutual Love for the Natural, Spiritual, Cosmic Experiences that we enjoy on this Water Planet Earth, and creative collaboration.Thank You very much for listening!
