RFP helps farmers on the Eastern Shore and beyond to recycle their plastic waste by 2030.To address this need, we are creating a process to to collect, clean and repurpose agricultural plastic to drive sustainable recycling practices in farms and beyond. This work joins the United Nation’s universal call for a Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically supporting the implementation of SDG12- Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. Agriculture is critical to our survival as a species. Plastics are essential for farming, for enhancing irrigation and reducing reliance on harmful pesticides. Farmers play a crucial role in ensuring sustainability. However, they can’t do it alone. With the increasing waste being generated from our nation’s farms, and with the rising scrutiny on harmful environmental practices, there is an impetus for recycling. There’s currently a void in the waste reduction landscape which allows tons of plastic to be destroyed, creating harmful byproducts in the environment.To address this need, we created a process to collect, clean and repurpose agricultural plastic to drive sustainable recycling practices in farms and beyond. We are a majority woman owned, scalable business that creates a valuable product which can be sold for profit.
