Bright Morning10. Continuum11. Butterfly“Ghosts: Music For Piano Vol. 2 ” is comprised of 11 piano tracks composed between 2017-2022, and is a follow up to “The Island: Music For Piano Vol. 1”. Both albums were composed and recorded on the same stunning 1900 Chickering grand piano.‘Barcarolle (for piano) is an arrangement of a synth track from “The Deep End”. It uses a custom tuning inspired by just intonation, and tuned by Seth Olson. The arrangement was a fun puzzle because the original synth patch has a feature where every pitch bounces up a 5th when the key is released… something that is impossible on the piano. To include the extra pitches, I composed it as a canon at the 5th. The music heard on “Ghosts: Music For Piano Vol. 2” is both nostalgic and hopeful. May it serve as a dreamy escape, a warm cacoon, awaiting emergence.
