With all the Love I withheldLittle more than a year ago, SCARRED retreated into a cabin in the woods to write new music.For our self-titled album, everything was very calculated, rigorously under control and created with a maniacal (and mentally unhealthy) obsession.This time we wanted to do the opposite.We wanted to relinquish control and see what would come out if we isolated ourselves from the outside world.There were no pre-written riffs, ideas or lyrics. No blast-beats, no double bass. We only had a variety of instruments, our voices and an open mind at our disposal.It’s always difficult to put music into words but terms such as “psychedelic”, “atmospheric”, “emotional” and “hypnotic” would definitely come to mind as far as describing this 4-song EP called « pAtiEnCe »This is by no means “the new Scarred sound” (or is it?), but rather the result of letting nature, spontaneity, feeling and music take the lead. We wanted it to be as raw as possible and let songs be what they wanted to be. We are very surprised by the result, but certainly very proud of the music we’ve created.
