鹿苑茶莊-林家早在清朝時期於福建安溪即為製茶世家，來台後傳承數代。 1935年在台北州羅東郡(今台灣宜蘭縣)冬山莊莊長－莊上先生的邀請下，鹿苑茶莊第一代創辦人林川先生從台北縣的石碇鄉到宜蘭縣開墾茶園，那時所製造出的茶葉取名為【冬山茗茶】，並將茶園命名為【丸川茶園】。因鹿苑老奶奶篤信佛教，佛經上釋迦牟尼佛於印度講道的地方稱為【鹿野苑】，據說當地亦遍植茶葉，為了安慰不能親自拜訪該地的老奶奶，林老先生便將茶莊取名為【鹿苑】。隨著台灣茶產業的歲月流轉，早期以批發外銷為主，後轉為零售販賣，目前客戶來自及美國、澳洲、日本、香港及中國大陸等。
