Wake up and make every morning YOURS! Every single day we have the opportunity to do something we haven’t done before, try something new, and be someone we weren’t the day before. I encourage everyone reading this to create a morning routine that excites you, a routine that makes leaving your comfy bed worth while. How many times have we watched Instagram stories of our friends up at 5 am at the gym and thought to ourselves “how can she have so much energy this early” while we drag our feet over to our coffee maker? I am here to help you build a routine that doesn’t only work for you but also something that is long lasting and will help you dedicate more time to yourself and your goals. Tip 1: Create a list of things you want to get done every morning. Do you want to get up and dedicate a few minutes to spiritual growth? Maybe you want to prep that delicious breakfast you’ve been craving but just don’t have enough time. Make this list realistic and easy to achieve 3-4 things is a good number, set 20 minute time slots for the things you want to do, and start by waking up 20 minutes earlier every couple of days until you've checked off the entire list. This will allow you to build up a gradual morning routine in which you can get more and more done without feeling fatigued during the day because you crammed so much in at once. Remember it takes 21 days to build a habit, take it slow if you can only wake up 20 minutes early for one week then focus on only that.Tip 2: STOP SNOOZING! Studies indicate that snoozing your alarm actually makes you feel foggy and more tired, so just get up and get your day going. If you want to snooze, set your alarm for 10 minutes before your desired time, allow yourself to snooze ONCE, and then get up. Once you're awake take a minute mental break to strategize your day and prepare.Tip 3: Prep the night before, do as much as you can the night before to make your morning easier. I like to start my day by working out, so i set my workout outfit, my shoes and my yoga mat in my office room. This allows me to have everything in one place ready to go so i don’t waste time looking for my things, and i have no excuse to skip my workout. I also set aside my outfit for the day so i don’t have to spend 20 minutes looking for something to wear the next morning. Make it easier on yourself, there’s no need to spend your extra 20 minutes prepping, and not actually get things done.
