SissosSissos are an acoustic duo from Sydney, based in Berlin. Georgie and Steph are sisters who flood the room with charm and talent from the moment they step on stage. When we decided to officially begin this project, we each brought a couple of songs to the table. They were songs that we loved that hadn't made it on to any releases for one reason or another. Some were finished, some just ideas. We let the finished ones be and worked on the unfinished until they came into themselves. It may seem surprising, but this was our first time doing solid writing sessions together. We let a couple go and chose our favourite 8 songs to make up this album.There are songs of heartbreak, love, and loss. Each one is personal, each tells its own story.We recorded in Berlin the depths of winter. It was during that week between Christmas and New Year's Eve when nobody quite knows what to do with themselves. We spent a few days in the famed basement of The Famous Gold Watch Studios. With our European friends all spending time with their families, we found ourselves surrounded entirely by other Australians who hadn't taken the long flight home for Christmas that year. Perhaps partly due to this circumstance, eight of the twelve contributors to this album happen to be Australian.Since the recording, this little collection of songs has taken us around Europe, and we're proud to be able to share them with you here.
