SUBTREES tackle this question in their full-length debut, Polluted Roots. Written in response to rough events, this concept album revolves around the themes of memory and trauma.... toxic waste radiating dread...The continuum of the record is divided into seven overexposed snapshots, from the foggy birth (Syngamy) until the coda of luminous explosion that closes it (Jungle/Overexposure). Both in their sound and in their intentions, these songs exhibit the band’s expressive urge: a no frills attitude is reflected in a raw production, as close as possible to a live situation.
