No Sozopol - Go Or Get Let GoFor the years 2005-2011, No Sozopol consisted of Gareth Ebbs, brother Niall Ebbs on drums/backing VOX and Brian Leonard on bass. These are the men you hear on our first album 'Now That We Have Your Attention'. Many, many, memorably good times were had by the three of us. Personally I always thought we should get a girl in the band so we might cut down on the farting in rehearsals but things worked well nonetheless. Lots of shows round Dublin, lots of late nights and a few memorable festival appearances. You know, the usual stuff. It was fun.This debut album I speak of was an arduous affair. It took too long and took quite a toll on the band (one might say it destroyed them, through no fault of their own) but you live and learn - a lot. We met some new people to complete this 'ere chestnut in late 2010 (namely Joey Kenny - soundman and producer to the stars, and Michael Moloney of the band Director - remember them?) who did a remarkable job in mixing and mastering the record and rescuing us from a fast-sinking vessel.Our travailles trying to make the album unfortunately killed the momentum of the band but shit happens. We miss the fun but all good things must come to an end, and that they did with a final show in January 2011. We all still love each other very much. Niall now resides in the US town of St. Paul, Minnesota (of all places!) with his lovely wife a beautiful dog, some lovely friends and a weird cat. Brian and I still see each other regularly and one wouldn't be too surprised to see us working again musically in the near future.The three of us had a good time while this band lasted. Hell, we might have worked a bit harder, but we probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much.Thanks...to all family and friends who have always been there when we needed you, you know who you are. What would we do without you? To everyone who supported the band along the way. To Joey and Michael for bringing sanity to things and for reminding us that making music is meant to be enjoyable.Rache, thanks for the support during the recording.
