Owned & operated by Mikey Crawford, a native of Ennistymon in Co. Clare, its connections to, & reverence for, Clare’s musical heritage are clearly evident as soon as you enter. Down through the years we’ve been lucky enough to have had some of the best Irish musicians either side of the Atlantic settle themselves into the corner of our establishment & play their hearts out.The tunes & songs on this disk give a flavor of the many magic nights we’ve shared here. Recorded on a bright, cold & windy weekend in November, as we approached the Thanksgiving holiday, the music reflects the people & personalities, individual styles, the craic, & most of all – the warmth of character that has helped establish the Druid as one of Boston’s great Irish music bars.We dedicate this recording to memory of our good friend & colleague Paul Conneely. Paul was a big fan of the music & our Tuesday night barman who made sure the revelry didn’t get too out of hand - Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anamPart of the proceeds generated from this recording will go to benefit several local causes within our local community & beyond.
