Released in April 2013, “Foreign” is a fusion of indie, alternative rock, and folk, with some Latin flair. Their sound is reminiscent of 10,000 Maniacs , John and Mary, The Mother Hips , and Pixies, but they not dated or overly-shaped by these influences. For instance, I can hear a Pixies influence in them.The lovelost aim for melody. On they other hand, they’re not afraid to detune and make some noise. So although those aforementioned bands (as well as The Mountain Goats ) may serve as signposts for The lovelost’s tastes, they aren’t hemmed in by it.
