Day Drink Part 111. Day Drink Part 2Weekends: The Story In the spring of 2010, Whitman was given the opportunity to write, rehearse, and record, and practically live at Jacketweather Studios in Austin, Texas. As the months flew by, we lost a bass player, our tour van, and our minds from time-to-time. We knew little about recording and engineering our own album, so this was definitely a learning experience defined by trial and error, and the occasional drunken argument of what button(s) to push. We had 16 un-released songs to draw from and it didn't take until the following summer of 2011 to wrap the recordings. The final product is an 11-track album called Weekends, an album that chronicles the last four years of the band's career. Weekend flings that we wish lasted forever ("NW Thurman,"" Manchester by the Sea"), the struggles of touring on our own dime ("Dead Dog Days""Light it Up"), and the joys of drinking and carousing with close friends and friends we've lost ("Barstools,""Day Drink Pt. 1 & 2") make up the core themes of the record. We can't be any prouder of the finished product and are certain you'll agree.
