Activities can be created for a child with difficulties producing one sound or multiple sounds. Language development milestones for each sound are included in the app. Elicitation techniques are provided for each sound. Fun activities are provided at the word, phrase and sentence level. There are many options to customize the app for each child you have on your caseload.  The Articulation Station Pro Español app can be used as an assessment tool or for therapy activities to meet a goal, making it a great addition to any bilingual speech provider’s therapy tool kit!Let's take a closer look at the app!This is the main screen and it features all the Spanish phonemes.  Vowels and diphthongs are included.The Main Screen (bottom left to right):Custom Images allows the user to add vocabulary particular to a certain region (we'll look at that more a little later).Info provides additional information on how to use the app, video tutorials, access to the website and more.  This app was developed by speech and language professionals.Scores allows the user to track an individual's scores so progress can be viewed over multiple sessions.Multiple Sounds allows for multiple sounds to be targeted for each child (i.e. that child who has trouble with all bilabial sounds).The Group feature is used when conducting a group session with up to six children.Settings allows the user to show or hide articles, sort words by number of syllables, etc.Phonological Processes is a section where phonological processing disorders, such as Initial Consonant Deletion, may be targeted in therapy: Now that we've reviewed the main screen, let's take a look at the phoneme /p/, to see everything this app has to offer for each sound.Click on the p to hear the /p/ phoneme in isolation.  The child can imitate the sound based on this model.  If the child produces the /p/ sound without a problem, move on to words, then phrases and then sentences.For ideas on how to elicit a /p/ sound in isolation, the developers have provided us with a few fun tips as well as information on the approximate age that the sound is mastered for Spanish-speakers.  To access this information, click on the lightbulb and the following information will appear:For producing the /p/ phoneme in words, the user can choose the initial position or the medial position.  Data can be tracked on the right.  The production can be recorded by hitting the record button on the left. Flashcard or word matching activities are available.  Pictures are clear and interesting!  By selecting the picture, the child can hear a verbal model by a native speaker.  Here are some of the flashcards for the /p/ sound:Here's a glimpse of the word matching game:Games are available at the phrase level, like this spin game, which is a fun way to combine target words with modifiers:And more fun practice, this time at the sentence level:When an activity is completed, the score is listed under the child’s name. Data on the child’s progress can be checked by looking at the score page.  Summarized or detailed scores can even be emailed from this page.  This is just sample data, but I have been using the data tracking feature with actual sessions with a lot of success!Customization: This is the part of the app that I really love.  This is a useful tool for vocabulary specific to a particular region.  For example, many children I work with are from the Dominican Republic and refer to the school bus as la guagua.  So what better way to practice the /g/ sound, than by using a functional word and a picture of a school bus that looks like the one they take?  (Side note: There are so many words for bus in Spanish, which always amazes me as a non-native speaker!)I created this word, recorded it at the word, phrase and sentence level, then added it to the /g/ phoneme for both the initial and the medial position.Success!  I can also deselect this word when working with children who are from other regions that do not use this vocabulary word.So far, I have already used this app during many speech and language sessions and have really enjoyed it.  I don't have much time to keep check marks on a separate data collection sheet anymore so this app has been helpful in keeping me organized when tracking progress!  Overall, great app that has made my life a lot easier.  Thanks, Little Bee Speech!Note: While the app developers at Little Bee Speech were kind enough to donate this app, the opinions expressed during this review are my own.  I only review apps that I find to be useful for speech and language providers.
