The Finger Shark was inspired by my two children, who have Hypermobility.As a mum, I wanted to help them with their writing and fine motor skills. I couldn’t find anything currently available that solved this problem, so I have designed and launched the Finger Shark, to help other children and adults with everyday tasks and to write without pain.Understanding writing and fine motor skills: If a child is behaving a certain way in class, or doesn’t complete work set for them you should check their fingers when they’re writing.Check the DIP joint on their index finger; does it bend outside normal range when holding the pencil?If it does, then they have an unstable DIP joint which can make it painful to write and also, restricts the movement of the pencil because they have to hold it too tightly  to write properly.The Finger Shark will stabilise the DIP joint and allow them to write freely.Our hands and fingers do so much for us. Writing in exercise books, typing on computers…everyday tasks that most of us have come accustomed to since primary school.But some conditions make activities like writing and typing uncomfortable. People with hypermobility (often diagnosed as low muscle tone), for example, may struggle with handwriting as their grip on a pencil may place stress on the joints.This is where the ‘Finger Shark’ comes in. The purpose of this little object is to prevent your finger from bending uncomfortably and applying too much pressure whilst gripping and causing hand pain. It is designed to stabilize the small joint of your index finger whilst doing everyday tasks.The Results from using our Finger Shark are instant. The other advantage of our product is that it actually helps strengthen the joint. .
