It takes its name from the Monkey King in ‘Journey to the West’, the 16th century novel attributed to Wu Chengen. The books are based on the work of Claude Larre and Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée. Many titles are edited transcriptions of seminars held in London from 1987 until the present. They draw on the teachers deep knowledge of the Chinese classics, and refer in particular to The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic (Huangdi Neijing), The Classic of Difficulties (Nanjing) and the daoist classics of Laozi, Zhuangzi and Huainanzi.
