世界に誇る日本の伝統工芸［和紙］を使ってアクセサリーを作っています。「今日、折り屋さんする？」こんな風によくこどもから誘われたなあ、とふと思い出すことがあります。小さい頃から紙を使って一緒に遊び、和紙を使い始め、やがてはアクセサリーを作るように。そんなありふれた日常から「ORIYA」の物語は始まりました。●こどもとの時間2016年。第一子を授かり、こども中心の生活が始まりました。2歳になると、歩いたり手をパチパチと叩いたりと、色々な動作ができるようになりました。こどもは手を動かすことが大好きで、目を離した隙にティッシュ箱の中身が空になり、部屋中に白い紙が散らばっていることも。でもそんな行動も愛おしく感じていました。●折り紙との再会こどもが3歳になると、一緒に折り紙を折るようになりました。私にとって折り紙は、小さい頃の懐かしい遊びでした。けれど、こどもともう一度始めてみると、紙一枚からいろいろな作品ができあがることが「すごい」と実感。二人でたくさんの折り紙を折りました。何個も何個も作っていくうちに、家族みんなで色んな折り紙を集めるようになりました。柄のある折り紙。フィルム状の折り紙。和柄の折り紙。探してみれば、想像以上にたくさんの折り紙が見つかります。こどもは折り紙以外の工作も始めて、いろいろな紙の使い方を自分で見つけ出しました。作品を作ることを楽しむ。それは大人になった私にとって、新しい出会いであり、懐かしい巡り会いでした。●和紙との出会いそんなある日、家族でたまたま通りかかった和紙屋。何か工作に使えないかなと軽い気持ちで入ったお店で、新しい発見がありました。そこには、楮や雁皮などいろいろな素材の和紙、レースや落水など模様のある和紙、深みのある色や淡い色など色合いの美しい和紙が並んでいました。規格品とは違い、一つ一つ模様や色味が異なる、人の手で作られた風合い。それがなんとも素敵で、目を奪われました。家族でたくさんの和紙を選んで、それからは和紙を使って折り紙や工作をするようになりました。●和紙×アクセサリーこどもが少し大きくなってくると、育児も安定して、またおしゃれを楽しみたいな、という気持ちが生まれました。久しぶりに新しい服やアクセサリーを買ってみると、こどもは興味津々です。「お母さん、その服ステキだね」「わたしもネックレスほしいな」時にはこどもに少し貸してあげたり、親子でファッションショーをしたりと新しい楽しみが増えました。そんな中、ふと和紙でアクセサリーを作ったら可愛いかも、と思いつきました。完成したイヤリングを見て、こどもは目をキラキラ輝かせました。「かわいい、わたしもつけたい！」こども用を作って耳につけてあげると、すぐに鏡を覗き込んで大喜び。自分が作ったものでこどもが喜んでくれることに感動するとともに、こどもがさらに愛おしくなりました。最初ですから、今思えば拙かった和紙のアクセサリー。けれど、作ったイヤリングを身につけ鏡を見ると、顔まわりが明るく華やかな印象になり、心が躍りました。やがて、和紙でアクセサリーをもっと作りたい、と思うようになりました。●商品化への思いと使命和紙アクセサリーを作り始めたある日、こどもが「とっても素敵だから、誰かにあげようよ」と提案してくれました。その時、ちょうど母の誕生日が間近だったので、母が喜ぶデザインを考え、それを作ってプレゼント。母は、とても喜んでくれました。「嬉しい。素敵だね。ありがとう」この言葉と、キラキラとした笑顔で喜ぶ表情は私の心にとても響きました。誰かに喜んでもらうのは幸せなことなんだと改めて感じた瞬間です。この気持ちを、もっと広げていきたい。こんな風に喜んでもらえるものを、多くの人に伝えたいと私は思うようになりました。けれど「商品化」となれば、今まで以上の出来を求められます。作品を試行錯誤し、どこで販売できるかを考え、開店したのがオンラインショップ「ORIYA」です。今では、和紙をメインに、いろいろな素材から様々なテーマでアクセサリーを作っています。人の温かみや、人の手を介した感覚を作品に。アクセサリーをきっかけに、幸せな笑顔があふれますように。これが私の願いであり、これからの目標です。「ぬくもりを、かがやきに」このミッションのもと「ORIYA」は、心温まるアクセサリーを作り、皆様にお届けします。We make accessories using Japanese traditional craft [Washi], which is proud of the world.“Are you going to the folding shop today?”Sometimes I suddenly remember that I was often invited by children like this.From a young age, we played with paper together, started using Japanese paper, and eventually made accessories.The story of "ORIYA" began from such a commonplace.●Time with children2016. But I also felt that such actions were endearing● Reunion with origamiWhen my child turned 3, we started folding origami together.Origami was a nostalgic pastime for me when I was little.However, when I started working with my child again, I realized that it was amazing to be able to create various works from a single piece of paper. We folded a lot of origami together.As we made more and more, the whole family started collecting various origami. Origami with a pattern. Origami in film form. Japanese pattern origami. If you look for it, you will find more origami than you can imagine.The children started doing crafts other than origami, and found various ways to use paper by themselves.enjoy making art.It was a new encounter and a nostalgic meeting for me as an adult.●Meeting with Japanese paperOne day, my family happened to pass by a Japanese paper shop. There was a new discovery at the shop where I entered the shop with a casual feeling that I could use it for crafts. There was a variety of washi papers such as kozo and ganpi, washi paper with patterns such as lace and falling water, and washi paper with beautiful colors such as deep and light colors.Unlike standard products, each one has a different pattern and color, giving it a hand-made texture.It was so beautiful that it caught my eye.My family chose a lot of washi paper, and since then we have been doing origami and handicrafts using washi paper.● Japanese paper x accessoriesWhen my children got a little older, I started to feel like I wanted to enjoy being fashionable again, and that I could have a stable childcare.
