Memories that are frozen in time are moments that hold ‘weight’. I have plenty of them to look back upon with fondness, but one of the most unlikely was the rainy October day in 5th grade when I bought my first ‘real’ camera. That was the moment I started documenting the world around me....a handful of decades later I am still searching out the perfect image as I go about my daily life. I am most fascinated with how natural lighting enhances the images we see. Having grown up on Nantucket (yes, a true ‘native’) I was spoiled with fiery sunsets and breathtaking daybreaks on a regular basis. Much of my photography is based on the Cape and Islands - yes, I’ll give a nod to the beauty of the Vineyard even though the island rivalry runs deep. As I continue to expand my portfolio, I will be branching out into all things New England. I’ve been transplanted into the heart of Vermont and New Hampshire and although the sunrise and sunset end at the tree line, I have yet to run out of beautiful things to photograph. Using only natural lighting and the occasional tripod, I strive to capture images that are not only interesting and pleasing to the eye, but those that evoke an emotional response as well. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.
