Youth Highway is a youth based nonprofit program that serves the youth community in Sacramento and throughout California. The organization is designed to grant scholarships, present educational activities, and host events in Sacramento and throughout California for under privileged families and youth that face challenges. David Carmon, author and founder of Youth Highway David Carmon’s Educational Foundation, had a vision to help students reach their educational goals. To reduce number of high school dropouts, increase graduating students, attend college, gain employment preferably career, gain leadership development, strengthen our global network, and inspire long life growth.The organization is valued to empower, rebuild. Inspire, healthy lifestyle, a voice, and nutrition, abolish youth hunger, and teach positive values, self-awareness, and relationship skills, mastery, play a vital role in their-own development, and have high confidence, encourage to stay away from drugs, alcohol, and Tabaco use. Youth Highway’s mission is to nourish students into leaders. Embrace their talents, work hard and follow through, pursue new opportunities, inspire others, create stability and consistency, set boundaries, choose friends that has high standards, stay groomed and good hygiene, and be honest at all times. Our Vision is to strengthen the youth in our community, teach them to be independent, show work ethic, money management, have good humor, except constructive criticism, understand and set goals, learn organization, improve executive function, and be trustworthy. Youth Highway is dedicated to encouraging morals, curb the rate of poverty, build social cohesion, life coping skills, giving what needs to change life and take charge of their own destiny, promote success, give space to help autonomy, successful transition into independent living, and show leadership. Today’s youth is tomorrow's leaders, our goal is to build self-esteem, community citizenship, build youth empowerment to improve quality of life., enhance social and emotional skills development, empower young people to participate in society, collaborate with other organizations that promote education and youth advocacy.
