After a memorable night in a local bar, they decided to leave their jobs and start making music.Using a borrowed bark, they moved to the uninhabited Isle of Burnham, where they lived for one year in an abandonned farm where Ossian is said to have composed some of his darkest poetry, and where his ghost can sometimes be observed.Surviving on fish and some basic farming, they spent most of their days writing, playing music, walking and daydreaming.The songs of Inland Empire are the results of this year out of time, and are deeply rooted in the dark atmosphere , the radical isolation, and the rugged beauty of Burnham.The members of BLC left the island after visiting geologists warned them that it was about to sink. As of today, the island lies 60 feet under the sea, and has been erased from most maps.Inland Empire is dedicated to the memory of the Isle of Burnham, although no song can ever capture or celebrate the true nature and uncanny beauty of that lost territory. It has been rumoured that the place actually never existed; the members of BLC respectfully dissent.
